Heart of Stone

It may be easier to have a heart of stone as then one would not have to go out towards others and simply be content to live in one's own little world - untouched and comfortable. But having a heart of flesh can mean that one is left open to the possibility of being rejected, hurt misunderstood and the list goes one. But if one lives in a cocoon eventually there is no growth and no real love. Open your heart to the world, - " where there is no love, put love, and you will find love." St John of the Cross
